Serena Williams US Open 2020

November 8, 2019

Serena Williams undoubtedly has always been one of the favorites in all US Open tournaments. As of 2019, after the US Open 2019, she has won 23 major singles titles. It is the most titles won by a woman or man in the Open Era. WTA ranked her No. 1 eight times between the years 2002 and 2017.

Although she has lost to Bianca Andreescu in the finals of US Open 2019, Serena Williams is definitely going to feel pushed towards winning another singles title in the next year’s US Open. What makes her a “champion” is her back to back wins in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Even though this was the peak of her career, given that she is getting much older compared to other performers, Serena Williams may get to win her last title in US Open 2020.

Given that she lost to K. Plíšková in the Quater-Finals of Australian Open 2020 in January, French Open 2020 is going to be her next focus to pass Margaret Court’s all-time mark of 24 major titles.
